Santa Prepper

Go Everywhere Bag

PrepperLogic Radio: Santa Prepper

Be sure to listen tonight at 9pm EST.

It’s that time of year again and I wanted to make some suggestions for Christmas gifts for family and friends who may or may not be preparedness minded. Many of the gift suggestions will be “stealth” prepping gifts. So that daughter of yours who thinks you are just a bit off because you pay attention to world events won’t even know you are converting her to the “darkside”.

We just learned that in addition to topics discussed in this video, our government now wishes to include a provision in this bill that would make transporting your firearm across state lines a federal crime.

Holiday Humor

Be sure to listen tonight!

PrepperLogic will continue to cover the Young Prep Generation.

Lesley will be joining us again to discuss Her reasons for prepping, how her friends feel about it, how her opinions have changed and what advice she would give to other people her age.

Throughout history our young people and university students have been referred to as "useful idiots". These young adults and college students aren't necessarily idiots, but just misinformed, naive and ignorant of the facts due to being indoctrinated with liberal/socialist propaganda through their public education and the media, making them an easy target and useful to politicians. We are very happy to see that some of our young people have chosen to open their eyes and see what is really going on around them. They are beginning to do their own research and make up their own minds.

Preparing Your Bug Out Bag, BOB

Some things to think about before you put a bug out bag together!

First things being first, we need to understand what the function of a bug out bag is.
Simply put, a bug out bag is an emergency evacuation bag. It should be designed with that in mind.  In addition to all the cool gadgets we see in the flood of videos online, you should include a container for your prescription medications, important papers, contact list, etc.
So how do we decide what we should include in the bag? First we need to ask ourselves some basic questions. The answers to these questions will help determine what is needed for your bag.

 Where am I going?
How am I getting there?
What is the environment like?
How long will it take me to get there?
What problems could I encounter along the way?

Once the questions above are considered and answered, you will have a much better idea of what to include in your bag.

Join us Friday Night for PrepperLogic Episode #1

Prepping in Secret

I was sent a message yesterday that asked if I would address an issue about prepping in secret. The author of this message did not say if he or she wanted a response in a video or a discussion on the topic on the new internet radio show, or what. I could not respond to the message because the account was deleted by the time I attempted to answer the message today. So I thought I would reference the topic in a video, and ask the viewers to assist in the answering of this question on this blog. I will also refer listeners of the show to this blog to assist as well.
The question was about prepping in secret, specifically how to get started without others taking notice. The situation as I was told is as follows. This person works for a small municipality in the Midwest and has a spouse that works for a small financial institution. This couple has a 3 bedroom home, and 2 children under 10 years old. The home has very little room for storage.
The reason for prepping (for other than natural disaster), a deep concern about economic collapse and all that will be caused by it.
The town this person is in is a small town with less than 3000 people and everyone notices everything according to the message I received. Things like deliveries from UPS and Fed Ex are always asked about by the neighbors.
I get the feeling that prepping in that community would be difficult without everyone knowing.
This person was worried about what the neighbors may think or say, and both think that if coworkers learned about their concerns it could be harmful to them professionally.
NOTE: if you have suggestions for this situation please post them here. If you have suggestions and are also prepping in secret please send your suggestions to the email I have set up for Prepper Logic PrepperLogic@gmail.com
I will post the date of the show that this topic will be discussed on this blog.

common prepper question and answer

It is probably one of the most common questions I am asked by preppers, and I think one of the most important. I am sure it has crossed the minds of almost all that are preparing for any extended emergency.  That question is “what will we use when our supply of toilet paper runs out?”
Some of the options I have heard include using pages from the phonebook, old news papers, and the like.
As we look back at what our ancient ancestors did as part of daily life, we find answers to some of the common questions we have today.  If we look at what was done in Rome (known as the clean freaks of the time) we see that a sponge was used to clean themselves. A sponge was tied to the end of a stick, or more accurately, something closer to a short broom handle than a stick.  This was used to keep the hand away from the sponge for obvious reasons. The sponge was made damp by dipping it into the water that ran through a small channel past the public toilets.  After use it was thoroughly cleaned and made ready for the next time. Some say that the sponge was left behind in the public toilets. However, this is very unlikely given the fact that cleanliness was very important to the Romans.
I think we all can learn something from the resourcefulness of past generations.

About this blog

This blog was created for sharing Urban Survival Strategies. Our goal is to post information on strategies and techniques for surviving emergency situations, natural or man-made, within our cities and suburban areas. We will be covering a wide range of subtopics that will include everything from the survival basics to more advanced techniques. We will also be providing equipment and gear reviews. Our goal is to involve others that can participate and share information in this particular area so that we can all learn together. We will do our best to present this information in a simplistic manner so we can include everyone from those just beginning to the more advanced survival students. I am certain that some information will be infused with humor and the occasional sarcasm. Largely because this is a strong part of my personality and I just can't seem to exclude it.
